I’ve been hearing about Extra Yarn so much–It’s on the December 15th cover of Booklist and accolades have been popping up here, there and everywhere–that I’ve just been itching to get my mitts on a copy. Imagine my disappointment when I went to my local bookstore and discovered that it hasn’t even been released yet. Alas…one week to go.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mac Barnett on a few other projects, including this one:
…and it was a complete and utter joy. And it’s hard not to love Jon Klassen’s work. In addition to the much-ballyhooed favorite of 2011, I Want My Hat Back, just check out this cool short, An Eye for Annai, that he made with Dan Rodrigues:
Even if you just judge the book by the cover (‘cuz let’s face it, that’s what we do), how could it be anything but completely fetching?
It releases on January 17th, so get ready to cozy up with a copy.

Gosh – just love the “An Eye” trailer so much! Did have to the soundtrack because I have a 2nd grader and this is THE year that they ‘learn’ to play recorder. And she practices…faithfully…if not well.
Looking forward to “Extra Yarn” because how can you compare a partnership like Mac and Jon?
